For my Technical Illustration class, we were challenged to create a pet portrait using Adobe Illustrator. I chose to create a portrait of my cat, Penny Lane.

Below are some of the reference photos that I used for this project.

As you can tell, she has a lot of different colors in her fur. I began by blocking out the main areas with blocks of solid and gradient colors. I used the eyedropper tool to pull out colors from the original photo for my swatches. Then, using my drawing tablet and the paintbrush tool, I drew out individual strands of fur.
